VersaTints Refund & Return Policy

Introduction

VersaTints specializes in manufacturing custom-cut, made-to-order removable window tint sets designed specifically for each customer’s vehicle. Unlike mass-produced retail goods, every tint set is fabricated individually, using vehicle information supplied by the customer at checkout. Once materials are allocated and cut, they cannot be repurposed or resold. This distinction is important, because it shapes the policies governing cancellations, refunds, returns, replacements, and dispute handling.

The purpose of this Refund & Return Policy is to clearly explain the rights and responsibilities of both the customer and VersaTints when issues arise. It outlines the requirements for submitting accurate vehicle information, the limitations on cancellations for custom orders, the conditions of our Standard Fit Guarantee, the eligibility criteria for our 30-Day Return Policy, the definitions of “unused” and “used” products, and the process for handling carrier-related damage and customer service disputes. It also details the rules governing chargebacks and the VIP Expedited Fabrication Service.

By placing an order through versatints.com or any authorized VersaTints channel, the customer acknowledges and agrees to be bound by this Refund & Return Policy, the Shipping & Processing Policy, and the Terms of Service.

 


 

1. Overview

This policy governs all refund, return, replacement, cancellation, and dispute-related requests. Because VersaTints products are fabricated to order, eligibility for refunds or returns is strictly limited. Tint sets cannot be placed back into inventory or resold, and fabrication costs are incurred immediately once production begins. Accordingly, certain restrictions apply to cancellations, change-of-mind returns, and products showing signs of installation or use. The policy is written to be fair to the customer while also reflecting the operational realities of custom manufacturing.

 


 

2. Vehicle Information Requirements

To ensure a correct fit, VersaTints relies entirely on the vehicle information submitted by the customer at checkout, including year, make, model, trim, body style, and any relevant options affecting window dimensions. VersaTints does not verify or correct this information and fabricates the tint strictly according to the specifications provided.

If incorrect or incomplete information is submitted, any resulting misfit is not considered a fabrication error and does not qualify for the Standard Fit Guarantee, refund, or replacement. Customers are responsible for confirming that their vehicle information is accurate at the time of purchase.

 


 

3. Custom Fabrication & Cancellation Limits

3.1 Custom Fabrication

Each tint set is cut and fabricated uniquely for the specific vehicle identified in the order. Once fabrication begins, raw material and machine time have been consumed in a manner that cannot be reversed or repurposed. These items are not suitable for resale or inventory storage due to customization and the vast number of vehicle variations. For this reason, cancellations are limited once production starts.

3.2 Cancellation Before Fabrication Begins

If fabrication has not yet begun, the customer may cancel the order for a full refund of the product price and shipping charges. This is the only stage at which a complete refund is possible, because no fabrication or shipping costs have been incurred.

3.3 Cancellation After Fabrication but Before Shipment

If fabrication has been completed but the order has not yet shipped, the customer may request cancellation; however, because the custom tint set has already been produced and cannot be reused or resold, a 25% Fabrication Cost Recovery Fee will apply.

Since shipping costs have not been spent at this stage, any shipping charges paid at checkout will be refunded in full.

3.4 VIP Expedited Fabrication Service (Refundability Rules)

Customers who select VIP Expedited Fabrication receive priority production. Once fabrication begins, the VIP fee becomes non-refundable, as the service has already been delivered through expedited handling and reordering of production queues.

For all other aspects of refund eligibility, VIP orders follow the same rules as standard orders:

  • If canceled before fabrication begins → full refund of product, shipping, and VIP fee

  • If canceled after fabrication begins but before shipment

    • product refunded minus the 25% cost recovery fee

    • shipping refunded

    • VIP fee not refunded

  • If canceled after shipment → order handled under Sections 5 and 6 (unused return eligibility); shipping and VIP fee are not refundable

VIP affects fabrication speed only and does not guarantee carrier performance, weather conditions, or delivery timing.

 


 

4. Standard Fit Guarantee (Fabrication Errors Only)

VersaTints guarantees that any tint set fabricated using accurate customer information will match the dimensions of the specified vehicle. This guarantee applies exclusively to fabrication errors, meaning the tint was cut incorrectly relative to the correct specifications.

4.1 Requirements for Submitting a Fit Guarantee Claim

To request a replacement or refund under this guarantee, the customer must notify VersaTints within 30 days of delivery and provide:

  • Clear photographs showing the misfit

  • Confirmation of vehicle details (year, make, model, trim, and any applicable options)

  • Any additional documentation requested

This information is required to determine whether a fabrication error occurred.

4.2 Installing or Test-Fitting the Tint to Demonstrate Misfit

Because fitment cannot be accurately assessed from an unused tint set, the tint may be installed or test-fitted for the purpose of demonstrating a fabrication error. Such usage does not disqualify a Fit Guarantee claim. However, any tint that has been installed or shows signs of installation cannot be returned under the 30-Day Return Policy (unused items only).

4.3 Remedies for Verified Fabrication Errors

If a fabrication error is verified, VersaTints will choose one of the following resolutions:

  1. Remake and ship a corrected tint set at no cost, including shipping; or

  2. Issue a full refund, including shipping charges, if VersaTints elects not to remake the tint.

The choice of remedy rests solely with VersaTints.

4.4 Exclusions

The Fit Guarantee does not apply in cases where:

  • The customer provided incorrect vehicle information

  • The tint was damaged during installation

  • Installation instructions were not followed

  • The vehicle does not match the order specifications

  • Documentation was not provided as requested

 


 

5. 30-Day Return Policy (Unused Products Only)

Customers may return an unused tint set within 30 days of delivery. Because these items are custom fabricated, unused returns are subject to a 25% Fabrication Cost Recovery Fee. This fee offsets material waste, labor, machine use, packaging, inspection, and administrative time.

5.1 Definition of “Unused Condition”

A tint set is considered unused only if:

  • Protective film is fully intact

  • No installation or test-fitting was attempted

  • No piece has been inserted between the window and door molding

  • No fingerprints, oils, debris, or moisture are present

  • No creases, folds, tears, or distortions exist

  • All pieces and original packaging are returned

  • A return authorization was issued prior to shipment

If any sign of installation or attempted installation is present, the tint is considered used and is not eligible for return.

5.2 Fabrication Cost Recovery Fee

All eligible unused returns are refunded minus a 25% Fabrication Cost Recovery Fee, reflecting the non-recoverable costs of production.

5.3 Shipping Charge Refund Rules

Shipping charges are refunded only in the following circumstances:

  1. When VersaTints elects to issue a refund (rather than provide a remake) for a verified fabrication error

  2. When the customer cancels before fabrication begins

  3. When the customer cancels after fabrication but before shipment, and shipping has not yet been paid to a carrier

Shipping is not refundable for:

  • Unused returns under the 30-Day Return Policy

  • Used products

  • Carrier delays

  • Incorrect addresses provided by the customer

  • Missed deliveries

  • Change-of-mind returns

  • Any issue not caused by VersaTints

 


 

6. Non-Returnable Items (Used or Altered Products)

Any tint set showing evidence of installation, attempted installation, contamination, or removal of protective film is considered used and cannot be returned under any circumstances. Used items cannot be inspected for fitment accuracy, resold, or repurposed and are therefore categorically non-returnable.

Examples include:

  • Protective film removed or partially removed

  • Tint inserted between glass and door molding

  • Creases, bends, folds, tears, or stretching

  • Oils, fingerprints, dust, lint, moisture, or residue

  • Missing components or packaging

  • Damage resulting from improper installation

 


 

7. Damaged or Defective Items in Transit

If a tint set arrives damaged as a result of carrier handling, the customer must notify VersaTints within seven (7) days of delivery and provide clear photographs of the damaged product, packaging, and shipping box. VersaTints uses this documentation to verify the issue and to support any necessary insurance claim with the carrier.

VersaTints will assume full responsibility for filing any required insurance claim and will either replace the tint set at no cost to the customer or issue a refund, at VersaTints’ discretion. The customer agrees to provide any photographs or reasonable information needed for VersaTints to pursue the claim.

Any reimbursement from the carrier is the sole property of VersaTints. However, under no circumstances will the customer be financially responsible if the carrier denies the insurance claim. The customer’s remedy—replacement or refund—remains guaranteed regardless of the carrier’s decision.

Damage resulting from installation, attempted installation, or improper handling by the customer is not eligible under this section.

 


 

8. Chargeback & Dispute Policy

Customers must contact VersaTints at support@VersaTints.com and allow up to two (2) business days for a response before initiating a chargeback.

Filing a chargeback without providing the required opportunity for VersaTints to assist constitutes a violation of this Refund & Return Policy and the Terms of Sale agreed to at checkout. VersaTints will dispute any premature or unjustified chargeback. If a chargeback is resolved in VersaTints’ favor, the customer forfeits any further right to refunds, replacements, or compensation for that order.

VersaTints may update this policy at any time. Changes apply to orders placed after the effective date.
